Once upon a time in the Oasis Diner, there was no cream at the table, but Ellen, Amy, and I all take coffee with cream. The waitress had just gone away scratching her behind and never came back. For a few minutes we blinked at each other and waited.
A man sitting at the table across from us had two plastic pitchers of cream.
"Excuse me," I said. "Mister, excuse me. Could we use one of those cream pitchers?"
And he gave us one.
Amy said to Ellen, "That's probably why she's the way she is."
"What do you mean?" I said.
"I mean I'd have said, 'Hey asshole, pass the cream.'"
Ellen sighed and lit a cigarette. "I try to pretend I like it black."

Welcome to my livejournal,which I enjoy using to document
all the little absurdities that I notice in this world.
I try very hard not to take things too seriously.
I know that can get annoying, but take my word for it:
I'm way more annoying when I'm not trying.
(I don't really write *angst* well.)
I'm searching for Greatness; god knows if I'll ever find it
or whether or not it even actually exists, but I sure am hoping
to be touched by it at least once in my life.
And maybe even have some rub off on me..
